Rise in Petrol Price

I tried to rationalize what is the reason behind the rise of petrol once I got the news over sms. Ok, government says they could not afford to subsidize everything and we are being overly 'manja' over the petrol issue. Hmm let me see, I certainly remember our TPM said when they raised petrol price 30 sen extra per litre last time around they are going to invest more in public transport. Roll on now, buses in KL is remain or getting worse by the day, trains are getting congested although public outcry for more carriage during peak hours. (Mind you in Japan and China they have bus and train carriage specially for women). Double track to Ipoh was canceled by current PM without any good reason. The only reason I see is because it was Tun Mahathir project, so we have to canceled it. Trains system for Penang also canceled due to political tsunami during lat GE, so to second bridge for Penang and the famous crooked bridge. One question I want to ask our government, where all the money gone? Sorry I forgot, you spend it on Monsoon Cup, Crystal Mosque and ...... geeee I am sure Media Prima will have lots to say (propaganda) about this. I was laughing on the floor when TPM said (same time when they announce price increase of 30 sen extra per litre), we should try to cycle to work. I guess he wants people to wake up at 4 o'clock in the morning, cycle to work around 5 am to reach office just before 8am. By the time we reach our office, most of us will be sleeping! Government has to educate themselves on cost of living. In UK doctors earning averaging around 2500 pounds sterling. PLEASE DO NOT CONVERT TO RINGGIT! Costing as follows (all in pounds) Place: Newcastle 1. Fully furnished house for rent 400 (3 bedroom house) 2. Bills (water, gas, electric) 300 - In Scotland water is free of charge. Please remember they have to have some sort of heating system in the house. 3. Car (First Hand Ford Focus) - 12,000 (monthly 280) 4. Food - 600 If this in Malaysia, the house will be fully empty. bills going up again in July 2008 and our car cost 40,000 with our salary of 24,000 per year. In UK the salary is 24,000 per year but car cost 12,000 only. for 40,000 car you can buy a nice 5 series beemer! I do not care if I earn 2,000 per month over 5,000 per month given the cost of living is less than 2,000. Cost of living in KL now is already 'gila' and with the new price hike... I am speechless. Government should have encourage alternative like car pool, flexible office hours, people work from home to reduce the financial burden due to increase in petrol price. They told us to save, do not waste and yet they spend our money to waste, or spend it on themselves. (NOTE: Government servant will get their bonus at the end of this year... trust me!)
