Drama of LTDL 2009 up to Stage 5

Cervelo bebeh!!!!
I have been watching the Le Tour de Langkawi since Monday. Monday, went to see the start at Putrajaya, then the finishing at Senawang. So far, the ex-Letua boys, Haidar and Nua managed to get top ten. Akmal from MNCF popped a surprise when he joined the breakaway riders and soon obtained some sprint points for the day. Salute to you!
Akmal

Second day, Senawang - Melaka saw the same style - some breakaways and subsequently obtaining points for themselves and left the bunch to scramble for the 3rd and 4th places. Looked like this was gonna be the style for the tour. Breakaway and stay to the end. However, Diquigiovanni team, ever so efficiently placed their domestiques in front of their yellow jersey rider and pulled him to the end, then left him to sprint for glory. Manager acknowledged that it's teamwork that got Gavazzi the yellow jersey. What a nice thing to do for your fellow teammate - shade him from the wind, help him save some energy for the final sprint and the sprinter delivered his package. Podium for 3 straight days. Bravo!

The ex-Letua boys still did OK, though Nua had some bad luck with punctures for 2 stages in a row. Nua, I think you should use my Duraace rims and let me have your Bora Ultra hahaha!

Third stage, Fallanie got a big break. Followed some breakaway guys and managed to coin some points. Cayalah! But unfortunately, the peloton, who was left behind at a max of 7 or 8 minutes, managed to catch them. And surprise surprise, it's the Diquigiovanni team and some Australian team, I think, that controlled the pack. Obviously scrambling for points was not their cup of tea and they'd rather keep the pack in tact and foil any attempts for breakaways from Nua or Letua or Iran or whoever for that matter. Tactics, tactics. Who'd have thought that this would be the way the game is played this year?

Fallanie

Dirty, but it got the job done. Gavazzi was again wearing yellow at Stage 3. Good job to the Diquigiovanni boys. You protected you guy well, and you didn't let anyone cross his line. Bravo. I'm amazed. What can I say.

Fourth stage, the longest ever, 220km approx. Nua didn't have gas to pedal through. Haidar fell on the way down from Perez. AKU SEDIH! Where were their friends to pull them through? Previously Nua would be protected by Duan and Haidar. But now Duan is in MNCF, while the other 2 are in Malaysia National Team. So basically, 2 different teams, so cannot help the other. Haih. Why has it come to this?

Nua in Genting

I'm just devastated at what is happening now. Everyone had high hopes on Nua. I understand that. Now Nua is not performing, or at least not getting the green jersey like last year, or not winning stages as he'd said he would, I'm hearing funny, sarcastic voices that said, "Normally when they get to national team, they will start to get lazy and under-perform." PIRAH MABUK KORANG!

Haidar

Talk is cheap. Have you tried asking them their training regimes? They have the capabilities, no doubt, but cycling is not like making instant noodles. It doesn't happen overnight. It needs a lot of training and a good regime to prepare them for the race. Abis last pun bos tak marah. Bos cuma cakap, lainkali kayuh laju lagi ye... Ada faham, adik manis??? (OK, part 'adik manis' tu aku sendiri saja tambah hehe)

Genetics, without the right environment or nurture, is a waste of talent.

I'm upset and frustrated at those who don't seem to understand and just blame them for their under-performance. Haidar did make the top 20 three times. Until the fourth stage, that is. I know they are frustrated too coz they know that people are looking at them to deliver their promises. So what if they fail this year? MSN's gonna throw them out? Well, I hope so, so that they can get out of the current training regiem and get some serious help elsewhere. I'm not saying they are crap. Go read my 'genetics' statement up there.

As a friend and a fan, frankly I can know they are disappointed with their results. It showed on their faces. I don't want to say that I am disappointed too. I don't blame them. I have faith in them and with the right nurturing I know they can perform. Maybe their future teams can prepare them better for their next races.

2 more stages to go. Let's see if they can cook up something for these remaining stages. Keeping everything crossed and hoping for the best for them.

With Serpa and some monkeys at Genting

Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan, Tepeng Style.. JM Bariani

Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan Tepen Style membawa korang ke JM Bariani House.

Aku pergi ke kedai depan Tesco Shah Alam utk beli barang anak aku & on the way nak keluar dari bangunan Tesco ada satu kedai nasi bariani. Biasanya aku memang kurang berminat nak cuba, tapi entah pesal hari ni terliur plak nak makan nasi beriyani nih.

Kebiasaannya kalau hari minggu memang penuh kedai ni sampai aku nampak ada meja yg reserved. Menunya simple. Just Nasi Bariani Ayam/Daging/Kambing, Nasi Bariani Gam Daging/Kambing/Ayam dan ala carte Nasi Bariani kosong dan boleh pilih lauk Ayam Goreng Berempah, Ayam Masak Merah dsb. Aku order Nasi Bariani Daging & aku order kat wife aku ala carte Nasi Bariani kosong + Ayam Goreng Berempah.

Servis bagus, cepat dan cekap. Tapi masa aku dapat nasi bariani aku aku rasa portion dia sikit. Daging ada dua ketul disorok dlm nasik. Biasanya customer yang buat (sorok daging dlm nasik) tapi ni kedai yg buat. Tapi after aku habis makan, the portion tu sebenarnya 'just nice'. Daging dia pun very tender.

Ayam Goreng Berempah yg aku order pun sedap. Ayam dia mmg good portion, aku pun bley tumpang sama makan!

Ambience OK cuma customer sebelah meja aku dok pot pet pot pet gossip sana gossip sini pasal ahli politik sana sini & mmg bising. Susunan kerusi meja bagus, banyak ruang utk berjalan. Satu lagi, harga pun agak menarik. Yg aku order kat atas tu + air soda bandung 2 gelas dah menjangkau 28 rengget. Empat belas rengget per person.

Kalau korang nak try, diorang byk outlet around KL nih. HQ kat SS18 (kawasan perumahan), Tesco Shah Alam, Tesco Ampang, Alamanda, Giant Kota Damansara & Mydin USJ 1. Rating: 7/10 (Sebab a bit pricey, otherwise recommended place to visit).

Once upon a time in 2006

Once upon a time in 2006, few bunch of ex-Maresmart had a Hari Raya gathering at Webmod's palace place. (Webmod, sorry la for posting this images, aku terjumpa kat dalam pendrive lama aku daa.. dalam keadaan takde keje sangat pagi ni, aku upload je la kat sini.. jangan marah aaaa)

Roses for Rose

In order to fully appreciate the poems..Try to read each line very slowly... and at the same time try to visualize yourself in her position, a very lonely person living in real pain after the lost of her true love one...

Red roses were her favorites, her name was also Rose.
And every year her husband sent them, tied with pretty bows.
The year he died, the roses were delivered to her door.
The card said, "Be my true love," like all the years before.

Each year he sent her roses, and the note would always say,
"I love you even more this year, than last year on this day."
"My love for you will always grow, with every passing year.
"She knew this was the last time that the roses would appear.

She thought, he ordered roses in advance before this day.
Her loving husband did not know, that he would pass away.
He always liked to do things early, way before the time.
Then, if he got too busy, everything would work out fine.

She trimmed the stems, and placed them in a very special vase.
Then, sat the vase beside the portrait of his smiling face.
She would sit for hours, in her husband's favorite chair.
While staring at his picture, and the roses sitting there.

A year went by, and it was hard to live without her mate.
With loneliness and solitude, that had become her fate.
Then, the very hour, as on the year before,
The doorbell rang, and there were roses, sitting by her door

She brought the roses in, and then just looked at them in shock.
Then, went to get the telephone, to call the florist shop.
The owner answered, and she asked him, if he would explain,
Why would someone do this to her, causing her such pain?

"I know your husband passed away, more than a year ago,"
The owner said, "I knew you'd call, and you would want to know."
"The flowers you received today, were paid for in advance."
"Your husband always planned ahead, he left nothing to chance."

"There is a standing order, that I have on file down here,
And he has paid, well in advance, you'll get them every year.
There also is another thing, that I think you should know,
He wrote a special little card...he did this years ago."

"Then, should ever, I find out that he's no longer here,
That's the card...that should be sent, to you the following year."
She thanked him and hung up the phone, her tears now flowing hard.
Her fingers shaking, as she slowly reached to get the card.

Inside the card, she saw that he had written her a note.
Then, as she stared in total silence, this is what he wrote...
"Hello my love, I know it's been a year since I've been gone,
I hope it hasn't been too hard for you to overcome."

"I know it must be lonely, and the pain is very real.
For if it was the other way, I know how I would feel.
The love we shared made everything so beautiful in life.
I loved you more than words can say, you were the perfect wife.
"
"You were my friend and lover, you fulfilled my every need.
I know it's only been a year, but please try not to grieve.
I want you to be happy, even when you shed your tears.
That is why the roses will be sent to you for years."

"When you get these roses, think of all the happiness,
That we had together, and how both of us were blessed.
I have always loved you and I know I always will.
But, my love, you must go on, you have some living still."

"Please...try to find happiness, while living out your days.
I know it is not easy, but I hope you find some ways.
The roses will come every year, and they will only stop,
When your door's not answered, when the florist stops to knock."

"He will come five times that day, in case you have gone out.
But after his last visit, he will know without a doubt,
To take the roses to the place, where I've instructed him,
And place the roses where we are, together once again."

JEWS vs. MUSLIMS

I am sure most of you received an email comparing how Jews has set the world alight the gap between Jews and Muslims are widening every second.

The reason on Nobel prize winners do not bother me a slightest. Why? The judges are human being and being human we are biased and discriminate. Academia? We have Ibnu SIna on medical research (mind you he did medical research as a hobby not his major interest, his interest in in plantation!), Ibnu Khaldun who produce a book on different behaviour based on continent, Al-Khawarizmi a well known mathematician. I believe our ignorance to acknowledge these Islamic genius may contribute to our downfall. Even more compeling that some of Europe genius learned from our Muslim scholar during Uthmaniah's (Ottoman) era but has been omitted from western history books.

As per company's who setting the pace in world market, we have ourselves to blame. We are the consumer and we buy their goods. A company can only survive if they have customers. I am not sure now, but in 1998 my friend's colleague from South Africa told us that they boycott Nestle due to their business decision in South Africa (Sorry, no details were provided). It is our choice and hopefully, we can make the right decision.

However there is the figures that I could not argue, the number of universities around the world. Here are the stats.

We have lost the capacity to produce knowledge.
o In the entire Muslim World (57 Muslim Countries) there are only 500 universities. o In USA alone, 5,758 universities
o In India alone, 8,407 universities
o Not one university in the entire Islamic World features in the Top 500 Ranking Universities of the World (I beg to differ, this is just marketing ploy)
o Literacy in the Christian World 90%
o Literacy in the Muslim World 40%
o 15 Christian majority-countries, literacy rate 100%
o Muslim majority - countries , None
o 98% in Christian countries completed primary
o Only 50% in Muslim countries completed primary.
o 40% in Christian countries attended university
o In Muslim countries a dismal 2% attended.
o Muslim majority countries have 230 scientists per one million Muslims
o The USA has 5000 per million
o The Christian world 1000 technicians per million.
o Entire Arab World only 50 technicians per million.
o Muslim World spends on research/development 0.2% of GDP
o Christian World spends 5 % of GDP

Grrreeaat...!!!

Teringat aku pada masa zaman dulu masa minggu Ko-Q seantero MRSM kat Balik Pulau, ada budak-budak dari maktab lain dok perli-perli kat budak-budak kita dengan kata-kata sinis seperti "Ala, budak-budak pandai ni (Maresmart) mana terer bersukan sangat, diorang hari-hari baca buku je..."

Well, based on what I saw yesterday at the Great Eastern 20km & 30km run event at Lake Garden, KL, I want to add something to the above statement.

"Budak Maresmart bukan aje pandai belajar tau, tapi kuat bersukan jugak laaaaa..."

Tak percaya? Haa, tengok gambar kat bawah ni sebagai bukti. Cakap banyak pun tak guna kan?

Haa, jangan main-main. Ni Azmil Abd Aziz (ex-504). He ran 20km in less than 2.5hrs.

She also ran 20km in less than 2.5hrs.

Proud to be Maresmartians.

Bersama photographer yang menyibuk nak enter frame jugak.

Well done to both Azmil and Aini. Sempat jugak aku interview diorang dalam keadaan diorang masih berpeluh-peluh lepas larian tu.

Azmil cakap, "This is my second race event so far. My first was during last Malakoff 12km run, and this time I ran 20km. I'll be doing triathlon soon, maybe the Port Dickson triathlon. But, I need to go get a road bike first".

Aini lak cakap, "I'm done with half-marathon (20km). My next big event will be Long Distance Triathlon in Desaru (2km swim, 90km bike, 21km run)".

Sekian dilaporkan.

WELCOME BACK

Untuk sesetengah orang hari ni hari yg start kerja sejak tahun baru. Belen cuti melambak2, jadi apa lagi pulun la cuti dari 27 Dis sampai le semalam 04 Jan. Cuti 9 hari tu....

Aku cadangkan 10 tips untuk orang2 yg cuti panjang nih..

01. jam bunyi tu kena pi kerja bukan time utk shopping
02. Masuk kerja sebelum waktu opis start. Shopping complex aje yg bukak kol 10 pagi.
03. Cuba ingat2 kerja terakhir jam 5 ptg hari jumaat... back log tuuu
04. Cuba ingat2 sapa kaki cilok brg opis sbb kemungkinan besar stationeries korang dah kena sapu diorg ni
05. Cuba ingat2 kat mana bilik boss2 & jugak boss2 punya nama.
06. Kalau muka member berkerut tu, jgn dok tenung.... diorang sakit hati la kerja korang diorang kena buat
07. Tido time lunch saje. Time kerja kena kerja...
08. Pastikan komputer anda berfungsi...
09. Emails = kalau VVIP paling kurang 50 emails sehari x 10 = 500 emails. Selamat membaca!
