Many among us are currently practicing as medical officers, or more commonly known as Doctors. Deejay found an interesting article and asked me to help post it up here.
Let's take a second perspective look at this career which some of us could only dream of.
"Why be a slave in your own country, when you are a king in another?""Doktor nak cepat, doktor turun sendirilah, gaji doktor lagi banyak dari saya"
"Semua orang pun sibuk jugak, macamlah doktor seorang yang sibuk!”

Actually, menda ni bukan setakat berlaku pada doctors aje. Kat ofis aku pun gitu. Kuasa pegawai sokongan II lebih hebat dari pegawai-pegawai mcm aku ni. Bagi keja sikit je, mula lah merungut. Nak kata gaji dorang sikit, paling minima skrg near to RM1000 gak tak masuk elaun. Pehtu dorang dapat buat OT. Tapi kitaorg yg pegawai2 ni keja mcm nak rak. Fotostat la, order makan la, edar surat jemputan la. Itu tak kira kisah driver yg tghari (12 - 2pm) takleh diganggu sebab dia kena amik anak sekolah. Abis, kalau kitaorg kena gi meeting kul 2 kat KL, sapa nak antar??
Kadang2 aku heran, nape CUEPACS asyik minta benefit utk pegawai sokongan je.. Ape pegawai profesional takde bagi sumbangan ke?? Oh lupa, itu Omar Osman adalah pegawai sokongan... no wonder la...!!
Cuma satu je yg buat aku leh layaaannn keja gomen ni, sebab aku leh balik sharp kul 4.30pm. Agak2 rajin, aku balik lewat sikit. Lelebih lagi skrg, aku takde immediate bos. Akulah bos, aku lah kuli.. so suka2 hati aku je nak buat keja bila-bila masa aku suka... hahahahahahah
Sal, its always like that.Sometimes we even work more than our hours and even that we cannot claim for what we do. whereas almost all the nurses or medical assistants would go off when their shifts are up.
Aku pernah kerja 3 days straight, and x balik rumah 4 2 malam. and the claim is measly. masa aku housemen, 24 hours oncall equals to 24 ringgit!! thats 1 ringgit per hour. Even orang yang kerja buruh kasar kat construction dapat lebih. sekarang ne baru naik berbanding dulu.
The system really needs overhauling. and thats why we leave and will continue to leave.
Kat sini ada a group of cardiologist team (2 are Dato's). Semua ex-IJN. One of the doc said he hold good post when he was in IJN but pissed off with management ppl yg (masa ura2 Sime to buy IJN) who prioritise management more than technical staff (esp specialist). So he decided to leave.
In here, they not only get good pay, but work office hours (rarely have to work on weekend for follow up) and even can choose the cases they want. Those with critical condition, they recommend for oversea treatment!
