Ministry denies report on misuse of funds by NGOs

Dah start blame shift and 'I'm not involved' excuse.... I bet by the time we celebrate raya everything will be back to normal. the one who will get punished will be a guy who just earning two ringgit from 5 grand transaction... //mod Source: Malaysia Today The Auditor-General’s report that non-governmental organisations had misused funds distributed to them was denied by the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry. Its minister, Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, said the report only focused on technical management. The question of fund mismanagement did not arise, she said, as the NGOs had spent the funds, especially the Special Treasury Aid that was allocated to them, responsibly. She clarified in a written statement that only deserving, non-profit NGOs that reached out to the ministry’s target groups were considered to be eligible for the special aid. {read full article here}

Aduss... Apa nak jadi dgn "pemimpin" kita? Aku rasa they embrace "I do less bad" perception and think they are doing fine. When they asked us to change our lifestyle but I think we should change them!

As usual, budaya kat Malaysia ialah cepat lupa. This issue will disappear not very long, i bet it wont last a week. They will come out with all kinds of justifications. Senang cite, maybe its time to reconsider our "leaders" up there! It all starts from the top, bapak borek anak rintik leh.

I saw in a link to Straits Times reported that Malaysia paid RM117.75 million to buy two helicopters but could not use them because they did not meet specifications.Then a further RM15.37 million was spent training policemen to fly the machines. Then pastu the helicopters were passed to the fire department, which then spent RM4.37 million to train its officers to fly them. So let me get this straight, the government spent nearly RM137.5 million ringgit to buy unuseable helicopters, then train the people to 'fly' these unuseable helicopters? Either the people handling the transaction are really stupid and brainless, or super smart to easily bank in 137.5mil (even 10% dah cukup nak makan bertahun2), paid by our hard earned tax money. Sometimes i wonder why we pay so much tax to the government (Malaysia has one of the highest tax mind you), only to be wasted and make some crony really rich. The news above came from the auditor general, and not some story being spun by the 'opposition' (as always claimed).

Imagine all these wasted money, down the drain. Ya Allah bila pikirkan memang sakit hati sangat. We have so many poor people, sampai nak kata kais pagi makan pagi pun tak dapat, and yet the money we contributed to nation building, which indirectly is supposed to help these people go wasted just like that. Imagine if all these did not happen, our country would be so much richer, business would be simpler, costs can be kept low, poverty can be eliminated and we as citizens will definitely enjoy the wealth together. Those money could have been used to provide better salary and increase the standards of living for Malaysians. More schools could be built, better education for all. So much more can be done with the money. How frustrating. And we have ministers who act as though they dont know anything. Helloooo, what are you guys doing there???

I'm with you adzimi... Really pissed off to know all this, but I'm wondering what can we do. I know we could not voting them, but should there's other ways we can help this country? When the dirty politicians dictate from media to legal system, we are left to drown. I really hope the coming election we'll have new face, honest leaders to help ppl...

What we can do is to inform others and to keep informed so that we always know both side of the stories and not just swallow what the national newspapers have to say. We show our dissatisfaction in the ballot box. We vote good capable leaders, not leaders that Tun Mahathir himself said "kalau UMNO letak tunggul kayu sekalipun, orang akan tetap undi UMNO". Why do we keep voting lousy leaders, scared of their empty promises and threats? Why are the malays afraid of our own shadows? I know its little that we can do, but this is the minimum we can do in a civilised non violent way. That is why i urge all of you to vote, regardless of who you vote for.
