1st & 2nd Sept EPL Review

Fernando Torres looked to be a shrewd investment by Rafa after scoring a brace against lowly Derby. Derby were clueless and did not know what hit them. With 5 different scorers Liverpool is currently at the top of the league after 5 seasons although they are yet to win their first Premiership. Manchester United was winning ugly again after Saha came from the bench and scored the only goal on 72 minutes. It was a spoil day for Roy Keane who returned to Old Trafford where he spend most of his career playing for the red devils. Others, Spur's manager Martin Jol could be the first manager casualty as Spurs were leading thrice and was canceled out by Kamara who scored a minute before the final whistle. Spurs and Arsenal are the victim of their own style of play, passing and beautiful game but without really hurting opposition and they want to score pretty. On Sunday, Chelsea took on Aston Villa at Villa Park and surprisingly this is the only stadium JM has not recorded a win. A wasteful game for Chelsea as they had 13 corners compare to two for home side & sorely missed their influential player, Lampard. Villa punished them with a goal after their first corner. Villa scored another goal when Chelsea pushed forward searching for equaliser. Arsenal overcame Portsmouth with ten men after Sanderos was sent off early in second half by scoring 3 goals at home. The goals scored by Adebayor, Fabregas & Rosicky. Only Chelsea did not manage to record a win, Liverpool sitting pretty at the top with a game in hand... Next game Everton vs. Manchester United (a hostile reception for Rooney) Chelsea vs. Blackburn (The blues need metal shin guards) Portsmouth vs. Liverpool (tough away day, Portsmouth just love giant killing) Spurs vs. Arsenal (Local derby, this could be the last game for Jol) Overall, next week is a tough game for top 4 for different reasons.
