Malay kids most abused
MALAY children made up the majority of child abuse cases reported to the Welfare Department.
Parliamentary Secretary to the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun told the Senate that the majority of the child abuse cases last year involved Malays (1,378), followed by Indians (248), Chinese (219), peninsular pribumi (1), Sabah pribumi (4), Sarawak pribumi (102) and others (47).
Replying to a question from Senator Tan Sri Dr Jins Shamsudin, she said that in 2005, Malay children accounted for 1,116 abuse cases followed by Indians (263), Chinese (245), peninsular pribumi (5), Sabah pribumi (2), Sarawak pribumi (109) and others (60). [read more here]

I agree about using the %, that would be more accurate. Of course malays being the majority, has a higher chance of this happening. But i beg to differ on the case of NameWee, or Hattan or even Nik Aziz. ISA should not have been used just because someone menghina lagu negaraku. That is totally misuing the purpose of it in the first place. Yg pasal NameWee tu, i wont go to the extend of blaming the whole chinese community for this. NameWee was just highlighting the fact of the situation. Dia takdelah menghina Islam, yg dia kata, pagi2 subuh orang azan, dia terjaga. Bunyi org azan tu pada dia tak sedap. Insensitive, but its not insulting, know the difference. Samalah macam kita cakap apalah kuil india/cina tu bising bunyi loceng je lebih. Similarly dia kata kerajaan menjaga satu bangsa, and bangsa cina kene kerja keras. Which is true, because they dont benefit from some of the govt policies as we do. I might seem to be defending the chinese, but what i'm doing is just being objective, considering all the facts of the situation, rather than believing what the media and our overzealous ministers have to say.
In any case, Hattan or Namewee, the alternative version of Negaraku sounded okay to me. I dont know whats the big fuss about change the rhythm or how that is considered menghina. I would think Hattan ke Namewee ke are creative to be able to do so and should be encouraged to produce better songs in the future, not completely shut out into the oblivion. Tengok Hattan, he has such a unique and good voice, tapi career downhill after that incident. Again, all these are just politics, and pity that others have to be the victim for the glory of a politician.
The ministers of this country should be discussing other important issues which are affecting the country. Corruption, bailouts, poverty, lack of infrastructure etc, so many other issues, and yet NameWee is the one that is being hyped. Probably trying to distract attention from other big problems thats happening?

i'm in total agreement with you on all accounts. plus we have to be politically correct as well, guys, takut nanti ada yg label this blog as berbaur perkauman plak.
Aku tak mau komen lebih pasal Namewee kritik Polis, Gov dan lain lain. But as a Muslim, aku rasa it was an INSULT to Islam..aku quote sebahagian lirik dia bab AZAN ni:
